The Apache also carried the same six .50 inch M2 Browning machine guns as the P-51.
The A-36 saw action North Africa, the Mediterranean, Italy and the China,-Burma-Indian theatres during World War 2, the type was withdrawn in 1944.
Maximum speed was 365 mph, with a service ceiling of 25,100 feet and a range of 550 nautical miles.
